The Harvest is annually celebrated and the time of this celebration varies according to the region and the crop type. This normal brings about a lot of festivity around this time of the year; in celebration of the harvesting of the Proteas. The Protea is South Africa's national flower and is therefore wished a good harvest season. This afternoon I arrived at the Nel’s farm in celebration of the Protea harvest. The hot summers day brought together a jolly group of people all looking all ready for a day of bliss under the shade of the trees alongside the farm dam.
