TVE BIRTHDAY

SO...

I have now ben back in SA for 9 months, as you may have guessed I did not only loose my ability to go travelling (cause= insufficient funds) but I lost my confidence in my photography skills, which still are not great. BUT, I've taken my camera out for the first time in months. So here we go, a little taster of Cape Town.

LONDON, ENGLAND

15 November 2013

I spent quite a lot of my time in London in 2013. But to my amazement most of the photos I had of my trips where of us getting intoxicated in Chelsea, or eating a hangover breakfast. So on one of my last trips I decided to make the effort and take some snaps. It was still bloody cold, but the weather was mostly clear. A friend and I ventured to Chelsea park for celebratory drinks, I couldn’t leave the alcohol out all together, and wondered home around twilight.
The UK are obsessed with Christmas, months before December Christmas lights and decorations are already on display. Oxford street was bustling with people, it smelt of ginger bread and hot chocolate (mostly due to Starbucks’, and the sugar overdose in most of their drinks), but the point is; London becomes festive and there is this “jolly” atmosphere everywhere you go.

SCOTLAND

October 2013

What I can tell you about Scotland
1.     It is ALWAYS very wet
2.     The Scots really do like whiskey
3.     They all actually where tartan
4.     Most of the time you don’t understand what they are saying

My dad came over to UK for a few days and we took the opportunity to take the 4 hour train to Edinburgh and go road tripping. We began the journey in Edinburgh, and traveled to Isle of Skye, Inverness, Lock Ness and the highlands. No I did not encounter the Lock Ness monster, but I did drink some great whiskey and buy a tartan scarf.
We where pretty lucky with the weather, it never got below zero degrees- for Scotland its pretty amazing.

NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY, LONDON

I wasn't allow to take this photo

SCIENCE MUSEUM, LONDON

18.09.13
Don’t get me wrong. The thought of going to a science museum bored me to death, but a free trip to London convinced me to go. The Science Museum in London is located in South Kensington.
I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. It was the history aspect to the scientific studies that interested me most. The camera below (with out the lense) was the camera that took the famous photo of the the naked girl, Kim PhĂșc, is running down the road, screaming. One of the most famous photographs depicting the Vietnam war.
The object that you see as a round gold circle is a sun diagram.
The museum in fact fascinated me- the old cars, the historic artifacts and the serenity I find in museums.
